01.01.24📺 Smiling Friends (2022) S1
I love everything about this show. Even after being spoiled on every episode and joke beforehand (I was late to the party) I still found myself laughing out loud multiple times per episode. This show is definitely one of a kind and I’m looking forward to S2.
8.5/10 👍

12.01.24🎥 Five Nights At Freddy’s (2023) [REWATCH]
Watched this the first time in theaters, and after the hype died down I decided to rewatch this movie. It’s honestly a bit more comprehensible than I remember, although there are lots of unanswered questions. I’m still sure someone not in touch with the games’ lore would have a harder time watching this movie. As a FNAF freak, the excitement of the first viewing definitely made this rewatch a tad underwhelming, but I still enjoyed it!
7/10 👍

21.01.24🎮 Heaven Studio 1.0 (2024)
I am ABSOLUTELY obsessed with this game oh my god. Everything about it is nearly perfect, ESPECIALLY for a 1.0! This is everything I could have ever wanted from a Rhythm Heaven custom level creator. I’m shocked that, even in the state the game is in right now, there is even more to come. The UI is extremely clean. The level editor is so easy to use and there are so many games to choose from right now. The community has created so many amazing levels, showcasing exactly what this editor is capable of, and it’s only been a week since release! This is a neatly wrapped and packaged love letter to the entire rhythm heaven community. Am I dreaming?!

24.01.24🎮 Rhythm Tengoku (2006)
All of the Rhythm Heaven hype led me to try to finish Rhythm Tengoku. Being the earliest installment of Rhythm Heaven, I expected it to be clunky, or unpolished. It was actually incredibly smooth to play and it was full of charm. Don’t know why I expected anything less! It has all of the classic Rhythm Heaven charm and it’s full of little surprises that make me smile.
(I played the game entirely in Japanese, so there was probably a bunch of neat text I missed out on, too. Oh well!)
8/10 👍

25.01.24💿 David Wojciechowski & Victor Fritzsche (nobonoko) - Gato (2023)
Holy peak. There’s nothing much to analyze about this album, but I will say that the concept is brilliant and the sound emulates late 70’s synth jazz music so perfectly. I love it.
8/10 👍

27.01.24🎮 Superliminal (2019)
Really interesting game! As a big fan of The Stanley Parable it’s no surprise that I really liked the game’s mechanics, environments, and story. Before I completed the game I thought it was about the tragedy and psychological horror of being stuck in a dream-state that you can’t free yourself of. The ending revealed that being "lost" was fully planned and part of the experience. It threw me for a loop, but that’s a really neat twist that really ties together the game, in my opinion. It really felt like you were the one in the experience all along, not that you were playing as someone else experiencing sleep therapy. I totally recommend this to anyone who enjoys puzzle games or walking simulators.
(While this is a great game, some of the puzzle solutions were a bit too hard for me [although that’s just me. I’m bad at these sorts of games] and the story was not memorable enough for me to rank the game higher.)
7.5/10 👍
